Buffalo Lodging offers exceptional learning and career development opportunities for students in a dynamic and supportive environment. Our interns’ ideas and perspectives help Buffalo Lodging deliver on goals and growth objectives while we build a diverse talent for future hospitality leaders.
The Program
Our internship program is driven by a single focus: for you to gain valuable hospitality management industry experience
We encourage interns to train and grow by pushing boundaries through hands-on training, gain exposure in overall hotel operations, and develop leadership skills
A 8-10 week paid summer internship
What You Will Do
This is an opportunity for current college students to jump start their hospitality career. Interns work with department managers, giving you a chance to:
Develop problem solving and decision-making abilities through direct observation
Learn company policies and practices that affect each phase of business
Practical experience and leadership skill to eventually manage a department/property
Support You Will Receive
Interns have weekly calls with HR to discuss your experiences, growth, and to help you maximize your time at Buffalo Lodging:
Mentors: The property general manager and/or department manager; your sounding board as you navigate your projects and our organization, making sure you’re getting the most out of your time with us
Our Employees: Showing you the Buffalo Lodging ropes, giving you an inside look at our culture, and answering any questions
FUTURE LEADERS, WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT THE PROGRAM
"I really enjoy this program because it is giving a full, raw scope of the hospitality industry. The hands on experience is different than anything taught in classrooms. It is real world experiences that are teaching you how to handle things as they happen."
"This program has helped me grow both personally and professionally. I've not only learned a lot about the hospitality industry, but I've learned more about how to be an effective teammate and leader. I've become so much more confident in my ability to help others and problem solve. Every day has been a unique challenge that has helped me grow into a better person and employee."
"I would recommend the program to anyone pursuing hotel management. It helps you to realize what each department goes through."
"My favorite part of the internship was being able to use what I had learned in class practically. In the past I have been an 'unofficial' manager, but this summer I held that title. I learned about different management styles and seeing them in practice was beneficial. I also enjoyed the mini projects that I was given (social media posts, updating websites)."

"I never realized how much communication went into running a hotel. I've learned that all the departments rely on each other to succeed and how a lack of communication can quickly cause many issues throughout the hotel. I also never realized how complex the front desk system is at a hotel and how much goes into just a single reservation."
